It’s the process of resizing, adding, or removing wall openings to accommodate new doors, windows, or architectural changes in a structure.
Yes.
Yes. On load bearing walls drawings that are approved by a structural engineer are used. We follow these specifications for a safe and approved outcome.
This depends on the material the wall is built with. Some brick get discontinued and so we have to find the closest match possible. Usually we can get very close. We also use techniques like “toothing” to make sure there is no visible “seam” in the wall and we tool the mortar to match. For CMU walls, matching is not much of a challenge and isn’t a concern. Block hasn’t changed much over the years. Now if it’s a colored block, these can usually be available through special order.
We work from engineer-approved drawings. We use various methods of temporary support to hold up the masonry while we work underneath. If we encounter something unexpected we stop, communicate, and reassess before proceeding. We carry full commercial liability insurance for the rare occasion something doesn’t go as planned. Your wall isn’t going anywhere.
